We are young entrepreneurs who have learned through our travel the benefit of cultural heritage, community and understanding perspectives other than our own. We love coffee and have seen it act as a catalyst for connection around the world. So, as we pursue university studies in business, we wanted to start our own venture to demonstrate that principles like environmental sustainability, ethically grown, women-leadership throughout the supply chain, community and social impact are not in conflict with running a successful business. This is our vision, and we invite you to join us!

About Us
At Buna Beans, coffee is more than a drink—it’s a story, a tradition, and a way to bring people together. Founded by sisters Ellison and Briony Brown, with Dax Grecian as our sales partner, Buna Beans was built on a shared love for coffee’s power to unite people of all ages and backgrounds through conversation, community, and culture.
From the farm to your cup, we chose specialty coffee's that champion female empowerment across the coffee supply chain. As a woman-led business, we proudly work with women farmers, retailers, and even a female veteran of the coffee industry who leads our roasting.
Every bag of coffee you enjoy helps us give back. With every purchase, 5% of our net profits support rural education for girls and boys in Colombia’s coffee-growing communities—helping the next generation thrive where coffee begins.
Our name, Buna Beans, comes from the Ethiopian word for coffee and the traditional Buna ceremony, where beans are roasted, ground, and brewed in front of guests as an act of hospitality and community. Ethiopia, often considered the birthplace of coffee, inspires our mission: to bring people closer, one story and one brew at a time.
So, whether you’re enjoying a cup at home or sharing with friends, we invite you to join our journey.
As they say in Ethiopia: Buna Tetu – come drink coffee with us!
